EMS Association,,,,,,,,welcome aboard folks,hang on for the ride

Welcome aboard folks.Now the challenge of organizing all the EMS personal in the province begins.We need your opinions and help.Jump right in.

How many services are there in Newfoundland? Best place to start is compiling a list of services and getting a contact from each service to round up those interested. Getting someone to do a simple online sign up shouldn't be too much trouble.

Yes absolutely, but its impossible to know where our support is and who still needs to sign up with just a list of names and registration #s alone. Someone from each base could encourage the lot to sign up here.

hey can someone tell me whats going on here we have people on the other site saying this is foolish but their is a difference here this association is to talk to government on day to day issues panl is a different ball game all together I am confused.

I'm confused myself....lol. I think some people feel we are competing with PANL, we are not, we want to address concerns to government that affect many EMS workers here in the province that PANL has stated is not part of their agenda, I don't understand why anyone would be against this, yes wages and schedules are apart of this and normally would be something a union would handle but we don't have a union, we have approached them for years and it's not an option right now, I have a friend that will post more about that in the next day or so for they know more than I do about it. Also, this isn't just about labor issues, there are many concerns EMS workers in this province want addressed, we have met with government and they have agreed to discuss matters with a recognized group/association, so this is our next step, we feel that an association would be more professional and would be taken more seriously than a few people going into a meeting to voice their concerns, we've been doing that for years and it's gotten us nowhere....PANL will continue to do what they do for EMS in the province.

o well keep pushing ahead I think this is needed panl will not work until the bigger issues are dealt with when it comes to EMS in Newfoundland panl is not go to deal with issues that need to be dealt with it comes to the mess ems is in this province.they have a different agenda

Hey guys just wondering what's on the go seems to be very quiet on here as we know there is no shortage of problems to be talk about any word on new meeting with Goverement

Still don't have a date set, waiting on government to call with one....and yes it's pretty quiet, I figured we'd hear from more people now that people can't be identified with user names....the number of members isn't very impressive either....
